LabLit.com is a popular webzine dedicated to real laboratory culture and to the portrayal and perceptions of that culture – science, scientists and labs – in fiction, the media and across popular culture. The site is intended for non-scientists as well as scientists, and the goal is to inform, entertain and surprise. Jenny founded the site in 2005 and remains its Editor along with a team of dedicated volunteers – the Labliterati.
Under her influence, LabLit.com has become known worldwide as the place for publishing original new fiction about scientists, and is also an epicenter for essays and discussions about the lives of scientists and their role in wider society. LabLit.com also curates a dynamic list of all novels in the lab lit genre – defined simply as mainstream, realistic fiction featuring scientists as central characters plying their trade – which has become a well-trafficked and much-discussed resource.
Visit the site and, above all, consider contributing yourself. Jenny and her team would love to hear from you.
